Overview

*REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS AT CAPACITY AND NOW CLOSED*

Bloomberg, Cornell Tech, and Tech:NYC invite you to join us for the latest *in-person* installment of the Cornell Tech @ Bloomberg Speaker Series, featuring Martin Mignot and Shardul Shah, Partners at Index Ventures, in conversation with Caroline Hyde of Bloomberg Television.

Mignot and Shah are two Index veterans who joined the venture capital firm more than a decade ago, based in its London and San Francisco offices, respectively. Founded in Switzerland in 1996, the firm opens a new office about once a decade. In May 2022, it announced that its next hub would open in New York City, with Mignot and Shah relocating to lead the new office.

Last year alone, Index announced a record $3.1 billion in capital commitments across new seed, early-stage, and growth funds. The firm now has more than twenty portfolio companies in the New York metro area, including Etsy and Cockroach Labs, as well as several that have gone public over the last three years, including Squarespace, Datadog, and Outbrain.

We hope you’ll join us for this conversation, in which Mignot and Shah will discuss their outlook on recent market slowdowns, why now is the right time to set up shop in NYC, and what their expansion portends for the firm’s investment strategy through the next decade.

PLEASE NOTE: Seating is limited and registered attendees will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors close promptly at the top of the hour. Individuals arriving late may be turned away from the building. No walk-ins allowed.
